TOLD IN THE USA - Seminar on the American novel

Saturday 26th January 2019, from 10 am to 7 pm (lunch break from 1 to 3 pm)


A day dedicated to four writers and their stories. Four women struggling with their own situation and those of others: they will end up in places where defeat, loneliness, waiting, birth await. Sometimes they will find even a surprising recklessness or a strange melancholy.

We will start with the great (and finally rediscovered) Joy Williams, continuing with the surreal and fairytale stories of Aimee Bender, those generous and distant of Eudora Welty to arrive to Megan Mayhew Bergman's animalistic novels.

A narrative journey that will take us especially to the Southern United States, in those veiled and suspended atmospheres that push relationships to unfold, identity to hide, voices to duplicate.

Minimum 10 members, maximum 12.

The seminar includes active and shared reading, the material will be provided to the participants via email.
